Janice Meyers, owner and free-lance web designer -
Janice worked for 25 years in retail in various fields including hardware, setting up a nursery, clothing, and managing a working millhouse with a gift shop that catered to tourists. She has a strong background in agriculture, studying Ornamental Horticulture at Cal Poly and is an active member of the California CattleWomen and San Luis Obispo CattleWomen. Her specialty in customer service, sales and display work won several awards.
In 1998 a disabling arm injury made her give up her regular “day job” and through a vocational rehabilitation program learned the trade of web design. Janice says, "This was a difficult transition for an outdoorsy girl but God uses this disability to open many new doors of opportunity." In 2003 Janice won the Everest Award for her achievements despite her disability.
With her new found computer skills she was hired as a Community Organizer and learned about the world of nonprofit work. From this experience she became a founding member of two non-profit groups near to her heart: the San Miguel Resource Connection and Morning Star Youth Ranch.
